Biography

Jilly Henderson is a Scottish artist who uses pencil, pen and ink, watercolour and gold leaf to create her unique artworks. Her work is quirky, yet poignant and she likes to study animals, fantasy landscapes, figures and portraits.

Jilly also loves to write, and as a drawing progresses she sees a story emerge and uses words within the art to tell a unique tale.

Jilly studied graphic design and printmaking at DJCA art college in Dundee, Scotland.

After graduating and working in the graphic design field for a few years, Jilly chose to forge her own path and became a self employed artist.

Her style of painting has evolved over the decades and has become a rather unique style which is recognisable in it’s softness with a quirky take on life and nature and always with a wee gentle story that weaves its way through the imagery.

“My artwork I hope brings a smile, a sigh, a chuckle, a tug at the heartstrings, a flash of recognition and/or a nod of agreement....ultimately I hope it makes you want to start a collection all of your own to admire and be inspired by every day…”

Jilly’s work is sold online and in galleries. She also sells to private collectors worldwide.
