Tell it to the Bees

This original treasure ‘Tell it to the Bees’ … is an original watercolour painting with graphite and gold leaf detailing.  

I have just finished reading a book called tell it to the Bees’ and have been inspired to create this beautiful original piece. 

There’s a beautiful wee story too that accompanies this original artwork about the hare who has thoughts and questions to share…. but… no one to share them with… Tell it to the Bees ? 

Hare has things on her mind. 

She wonders if the moon would 

like to be her friend. 

She can’t work out where all the 

tiny mice go once the 

field is ploughed. 

She has a passion for the deepest poppy pink flowers and seeks them out the entire summer to smell the heady aroma and soak up the beauty that’s effortlessly emanating from each and every one.

Hare needs a friend, a confidant, 

an ear, a sounding board, an audience.

Hare’s clever mamma had told her when she was no bigger than 

a pom pom 

“If you want to share something…find the bees. They keep secrets beautifully and are so entirely busy with their work they have no time to take your tellings elsewhere…tell it to the bees”

And so Hare did.

This image size is 5.5” in width and 9” in height and is painted using quality Winsor and Newton watercolour paints on 300gsm 10” x 14” cotton watercolour paper.

Delicate gold leaf detailing compliments the work, lending a unique finish to the study.
